Credits

The prepaid wallet behind every request: add credits, set up auto top-up, and read the low-balance banner and monthly statements.

Credits are prepaid. Each organization and each personal space has one wallet, and every request is paid from it. The wallet is shared by all of the account's workspaces.

Admins of an organization and the owner of a personal space can see the Credits page. Members cannot.

The balance#

The Available number on the Credits page is what you can still spend. When it reaches zero, requests fail with a 402 until you add credits. See Errors & rate limits.

If recent spending would use up your balance within about 7 days, the console shows a low-balance banner on every page so you can top up before requests stop. The page also shows roughly how many days your balance will last at your recent pace.

Add credits#

  1. Open Credits.
  2. Choose an amount, from $1 to $2,000 per purchase, and continue to checkout.
  3. Pay by card. Credits appear as soon as the payment clears.

A card payment adds a processing fee on top of the amount: 5%, with a minimum of $0.80. You are charged the amount plus the fee, and only the amount becomes credit. For example, $100 of credit costs $105.

Refunds#

A card top-up can be refunded within 24 hours of the payment, and only for credits you have not yet used. The processing fee is not refunded. Only the person who made the payment can refund it, and they need permission to manage credits. A refund shows as its own row in Transactions. If a payment is no longer eligible, the refund button is disabled and its tooltip says why.

Auto top-up#

Auto top-up adds credits for you when the balance runs low, so long-running jobs are not interrupted.

  1. In Credits, open Auto top-up and turn it on.
  2. Choose the balance that should trigger a top-up, and the amount to add each time (up to $2,000).
  3. Save.

Auto top-up charges a saved card each time the balance falls below the trigger. Every charge appears in Transactions, labeled as an auto top-up.

Statements and receipts#

  • Transactions lists top-ups, refunds, promotional credit, and usage charges. Top-ups and refunds have a receipt you can download.
  • Statements lists a statement for each month, with a PDF to download. Months follow UTC.

Credits and budgets#

Credits are the money you have. Budgets are ceilings you set on how fast it can be spent. A request needs both: enough credit in the wallet, and room left under every budget that applies.
